Deborah Lohse : Actor
Deborah Lohse joined SAG-AFTRA when she booked a role in “I Am Legend" starring Will Smith during which she worked closely with actor/choreographer David Neumann. Other film projects include Lee Daniels' Oscar-nominated “Precious” and most recently “Concussion” written and directed by Stacie Passon and produced by Rose Troche which premiered at Sundance in 2013.
As a dancer/actor Lohse worked with director Anne Kauffman and choreographer Doug Elkins to create original material as a part of The Joyce Theater’s director/choreographer collaborative commissions. Also with Doug Elkins, she worked with former Flying Karamazov Brother and director Michael Preston and director Barbara Karger on the Bessie award winning production Fräulein Maria, an irreverent, but loving modern dance homage to "The Sound of Music", featuring Lohse as The Baroness.
Lohse graduated with a B.A. in Theater from University of California, San Diego and continues to study at Scott Freeman Studio with Scott Freeman, Alexandria Neil and Maria Dizzia. Lohse has studied comedy improvisation at Upright Citizens Brigade, commercial acting with Bill Coelius and clowning with Mark Gindick.
Lohse continues to train and tour as a professional dancer with doug elkins choreography, etc., The Bang Group, LMnO3 and as her alter ego indefatigable cabaret persona TruDee.
