The experience with Le Grand Continental is reminding me of my time in the studio with my Dad as we collaborated on a performance which was selected and performed as a part of the Dancenow Festival at Joe’s Pub last fall. Coming from the world of ballet and highly trained bodies, these rehearsals have reminded me that dance is by everyone and for everyone and not a select few who have trained shape making skills. Dance really is about expression, empowerment, conquering challenges, pushing through self doubt and physical constraints to arrive on the other side at that magical moment right before the lights go out and the applause takes over.

When fellow dancer Cori Marquis asked my Dad post Joe’s Pub performance

“Do you see why we do this?” He just beamed and said “Yes!”
